foto (c) by anne stiller 2009		Ende der 80'iger Jahre kam Mathis zum ersten mal mit elektronischer Musik in Contact. Da Platten im damaligen Osten Deutschlands noch schwer zu bekommen waren , interessierte  er sich besonders für Radio Sendungen wie "Electronics" auf DT64. Seine erste Platte  konnte er dann im Jahr 1989 kurz nach Maueröffnung erstehen , es war "a broken Frame"  von Depeche Mode. Danach interessierte er sich immer stärker für Clubsounds wie Acid  House und Techno. 1995 kamen dann seine ersten Plattenspieler, außerdem machte er seine ersten Erfahrungen im Producing mit einem C64. Ab Ende der 90 iger war er dann zumeist als Deejay im Thüringer Raum unterwegs. 2005  zog es Ihn nach Jena, wo er schnell gefallen am Musikalischen Underground um den Club  Kassablanca und das Label Freude am Tanzen fand.
Im Jahre 2006 gründete er mit seinem  Freund Jan Kose' das Net-Label auflegware. Seitdem ist er dort Kopf der Musikalischen  Entwicklung und Labelmanager. Im Jahr 2007 verschlug es Ihn dann in die Kulturhauptstadt Weimar ,  dort konnte er  sich schnell mit der kleinen feinen Electronischen Musikszene anfreunden. Stylistisch  durchlebte er einige Metharmorphosen , blieb aber seinem Grundbedürfniss nach Groove ,  Soul und Beat immer treu. Seine Musik ist schwer zu beschreiben , im Grunde ist es  House Musik dazu einige Zutaten aus dem Bereich Dub , Minimal , Jazz und Funk sowie  Afro und Südamerikanische Einflüsse. Mathis über sich und die Musik: " Das Wichtigste ist sich selbst treu zu bleiben und  die Musik zu spielen die man liebt und mit der man sich identifiziert. Das ist eine  Form von Ehrlichkeit. Ich liebe ehrliche Musik". English At the end of the 80s, he came up against electronic music for the first time. He specially was interested in broadcasting called “Electronics” on radio station DT64, because at that time it was difficult to receive vinyl records in Eastern Germany. He could purchase his first vinyl record shortly after the historical fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. It was “a broken Frame” by Depeche Mode. Afterwards he was more and more interested in Clubsounds like Acid House and Techno music. In 1995 he got his first turntable, and he firstly experienced producing music on a C64. Over the 90s he mostly was on the move around Thuringia as “Deejay”. In 2005 he moved to Jena, where he quickly enjoyed the musical underground of “Kassablanca Club” and the Label “Freude am Tanzen. In 2006 he and his friend Jan Kose’ founded the Net-label “auflegware”. Since then he is the leader of the musical design and development and labelmanager.  In 2007 he moved to Weimar – the Capital of Culture . In Weimar he quickly could cotton on to the small but nice electronic music scene. His musical style have generally not changed -  he has sticked to his musical principles of Groove, Soul and Beat, although he lived through a few metamorphoses. It is difficult to describe the style of his music. Basically it is House Music mixed with elements of Dub, Minimal, Jazz and Funk, Afro and South American styles. Mathis describes himself and his music: “The most important things are to remain true to yourself and to play the music that you love and you can identify with. This is a kind of honesty. I love honest music.”
